Festo! Festo! is a monthly Klezmer, Balkan, and World music concert and community jam session. This month's guest bands are Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe and KvetchUP and Fries!
Hal Aqua and the Lost Tribe have a newly-released CD entitled "Don't Be Quiet!" -- a collection of Yiddish social justice and labor songs along with hard-driving klezmer and Balkan dance tunes. Hal says, "Speaking truth to power is in the DNA of Yiddish music, and klezmer gives the message a beat." Don't miss this opportunity to support local music, stand up for human rights, and dance the night away!
KvetchUP and Fries is a klezmer ensemble, originating from the University of Denver. With experience in both classical and jazz settings, KvetchUP’s unique and invigorating sound blends purity of tone with improvisation. They have performed alongside the Lamont Wind Ensemble at the Newman Center for the Performing Arts, and regularly entertain at Jewish functions and campus events, in the Denver area. To kvetch is yiddish for to complain... but that's no fun. When they kvetch, it's to UP-lift your spirits!
Tickets for Festo Festo are on a sliding scale
The sliding scale pricing model allows the JCC Denver to offer programming that is accessible to anyone regardless of their access to wealth. Everyone deserves to be able to participate! Participants are asked to be honest in evaluating their own circumstances and self-selecting the pricing tier that is right for them. In short, you should select a pricing tier based on the simplified criteria below.

Tier 1: If you stress about basic needs, but rarely miss them.
Tier 2: You are not worried about basic needs and have some expendable income.
Tier 3: You maintain a high standard of living and have access to expendable income.
